Tiring Pakistani Rupee Gets Some Relief, Gains Rs1.67 Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: After repeated blows by the US dollar and other international currencies, the Pakistan rupee got not enough but some relief and appreciated by Rs1.67 against the American Dollar in the interbank trading on Thursday and closed at Rs 284.90 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 286.61

According to FAP (Forex Asso0ciation of Pakistan), the buying and selling rates of the US Dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 290 and Rs 292, respectively.

Euro, Pound, Riyal bowed little to Pak Rupee

Like the American dollar, other international currencies also left some space with respect to the tiring and tumbling local currency. Euro decreased by 33 paisa against Pak Rupee to close at Rs 313.34 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 313.01, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen remained unchanged and stood at Rs 2.14, while the British Pound witnessed a decrease of 14 paisa and was traded at Rs356.09 compared to its last day’s closing of Rs 355.95.

The Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal exchange rates declined by 46 paisa each to close at Rs 77.58 and Rs 75.94, respectively.
