TEHRAN: Foreign minister of Iran has said that Beijing-Tehran ties and the 25-year strategic cooperation program are moving in the right direction, Iranian state agency IRNA reported on Sunday.
Hossein Amirabdollahian made the remarks during a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
China, Iran discuss bilateral ties, intl’ developments
The two sides discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations and global issues.
Amirabdollahian congratulated Wang Yi on his re-appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China expressing satisfaction with the progress in China-Iran ties.
Referring to the progress of the agreements reached between the presidents of the two countries, the Iranian florigen minister said the 25-year cooperation program between China and Iran is moving in the right direction.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in his views said Beijing enjoys strong ties with Tehran. He briefed his Iranian counterpart about the BRICS summit in South Africa and the issues related to increase in the group’s members.

Yi said Iran is an important member of the Belt and Road initiative and China attaches great importance to the participation of Iran in the upcoming Belt and Road conference.
He hailed the recent visit of Amirabdollahian to Saudi Arabia and the progress in the relations between Tehran and Riyadh.
