PESHAWAR: At least three police officials were martyred when unknown gunmen on Saturday night opened indiscriminate firing at a police party in Pakistan’s northern area of Akora Khattak town of district Nowshera. Nowshera is the central district of Pakistan’s northwest province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police were fired upon indiscriminately
Pakistan’s local media reported that the incident took place when unknown armed men riding on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate firing at a police mobile van in the Sarikhel area of the Nowshera district. Security forces rushed to the attack site after the firing incident and cordoned off the area to nab the culprits involved in the attack.
Local media of the country reported that heavy contingents of forces have been deployed after the incident. Local media said that they started the investigation to arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
Soon after the incident, rescue teams rushed to the crime scene and shifted the dead bodies to the Qazi Hussain Ahmed Hospital for medicolegal formalities.
