RAWALPINDI: Three Pak Army soldiers embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists gallantly in Balochistan, said the media wing of the military on Saturday.
The martyrs have been identified as Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed, Sepoy Mudassir, and Lance Naik Abdul Qadeer. The ISPR said that on 20 May 2023, early in the morning, a group of terrorists attacked a security forces post established in Zarghoon, Marget Area of Balochistan. The post had recently been established to help check extortion cases targeting coal mines in the area.
According to the ISPR, the troops present on the post retaliated readily to the fire raid, pushing back the terrorists. However, in the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, three soldiers embraced shahadat while one terrorist was sent to hell by the security forces.
A likely hideout of the fleeing terrorists has been identified in nearby mountains and a blocking and sanitisation operation has been launched. Currently, the operation is progressing well and the security forces are maintaining pressure to deny terrorists escape from the area. The military said that the security forces in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
