LOS ANGELES: Local officials said on Monday that an 18-year-old armed man killed three people and wounded several others including two police officials during a shooting in a New Mexico city.
Local police deputy head Baric Crum told a news conference, “Officials responding to several emergency calls found “a messy scene where a man was actively firing upon people,”. Four officers confronted the armed man and “were able to stop him,” Crum maintained.

“The suspect is dead, but prior to that, we know that three people were killed by this man’s actions,” he added.
The gunfire took place in Farmington, a town located some 200 miles from the state capital Santa Fe. He maintained that nine people were injured in the shooting. Further information on exactly how and where the gunfire outspread was not immediately provided. Inquiries into the incidents are ongoing.
The two police personnel shot during the firing are being treated at a hospital and health officials said that they were in stable condition. As many as 225 mass shootings have been reported in the current year in the United States (US).
