Three-day ‘ Food Expo Plus’ to Start from February 10

LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) is going to organize a three-day ‘Food Expo Plus’ to be held from February 10, 2023 in Lahore.

This was said by PFA Additional Director General (Technical) Ahad Dogar on Saturday while talking to representatives from the business community here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

Meanwhile, President LCCI, Kashif Anwar, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Zafar Mahmood, and LCCI Executive Committee members also expressed their views on the occasion.

Facilities at Food Expo

Ahad Dogr said that food court, traditional cuisine, entertainment, and a ‘Best CEO Conference’ would also be part of the festival. He further said that the food industry, processing sector, producers, exporters and importers would display their stalls.

Besides. the international delegates and ambassadors of different countries would also visit the event.

Ahad Dogar said that the main objective of this expo was to attract and encourage Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and promote export of food items.

Checking of Food Items

The Additional DG Ahad Doga said that Punjab Food Authority checked vehicles at the entry-exit points in different places of Lahore district. Meanwhile, the adulteration of milk in each district was properly checked on daily basis. He further said that the demand for milk has increased while its production went down resulting a high risk of adulteration.

He further said that main function of food authority is to check the quality of milk which could not be maintained properly without feasibility.

He added that the authority had collected door-to-door 15,000 samples in different districts previous month with the assistance of university students. The purpose of the exercise was to check the use of milk which reached to the consumer after checking. He added that the results would also be shared with Lahore Chamber soon.

President LCCI Kashif Anwar assured that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would assist and play its due role to make the expo successful.

Kashif Anwar further said that LCCI wanted to have a good liaison with all of the concerned departments for the sake of trade, industry and economy.
