RAWALPINDI: A vehicle-borne suicide bomber detonated himself in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan tribal district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in the tragic deaths of two Pakistan Army soldiers, one police official, and an innocent civilian, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.
According to ISPR, the incident occurred on Wednesday when the suicide bomber tried to target a public gathering. However, the swift response from security forces personnel prevented a major catastrophe as they intercepted the suspicious vehicle, sacrificing their own lives to save numerous innocent lives.
ISPR Shares Identities of Victims
The victims have been identified as Naik Said Ullah Shah, aged 33 and a resident of Charsadda; Sepoy Jawad Khan, aged 31 and a resident of District Haripur, both serving in the Pakistan Army; and Police Constable Hakeem Jan, a resident of North Waziristan district and a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department. Additionally, an innocent civilian also lost his life in the blast.
ISPR emphasized that the security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan remain committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices of the brave soldiers and innocent citizens only strengthen their resolve.
The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan in combating terrorism and the unwavering determination of security forces to protect the lives and safety of the people.
