CALIFORNIA: Thousands of Apple device users reported that they were experiencing issues with iMessage, local media reported on Friday.
According to tracker DownDetector, over 13,000 iMessage outages were reported shortly after 6 p.m. ET. Users reported receiving “Not Delivered” messages or having to send texts as non-iMessages with green bubbles.
Apple’s System Status tracker briefly acknowledged an issue with iMessage around 7:00 p.m. ET. Although USA TODAY reported that Apple did not issue any remark over the matter. As per media reports, the company resolved the issue in the evening, stating that some users were unable to use the service between 5:49 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.
Furthermore, users quickly took to social media to share their experiences. Many posted memes on X (formerly Twitter), joking about their instinct to check social media to confirm they weren’t the only ones affected by the iMessage outage.
