SAN FRANCISCO: Twitter has suffered a major outage, leaving thousands twitter users unable to make access to the microblogging site. Users trying to log on to the popular social media platform late on Wednesday were replied with an error message.

According to Downdetector, it had received more than 8,700 user reports of issues with the site. Downdetector said in a tweet that user reports indicate Twitter is having an issue since 7:13 EST.
Reports said that more than 10,000 social media users reported issues with accessing Twitter in the United States (US). Some users complained that their Twitter notifications were not functioning.

Earlier, owner of the Twitter Elon Musk announced that he would quit as Twitter’s chief executive once a replacement was found following users voted for him to go in a poll he created.
