LAHORE: A purported audio clip of former interior minister Brig (retd) Ijaz Shah and former Punjab health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has surfaced in which the latter could be heard telling the former: “Khan Sahib has just said that call all MNAs and MPAs to tell them to arrive (at Zaman Park), bring workers with them, otherwise, he (Imran Khan) will not give the ticket to those who fail to show up.”
In response to the conversation, Brig (retd) Ejaz Shah says: “Yes! We are doing it.”
It should be noted that the Zaman Park area of Lahore, where Imran Khan’s residence is located, has presented the battlefield scene since Tuesday evening. Islamabad police and Punjab police are trying to arrest the PTI chief with the help of Rangers, but PTI workers are putting up fierce resistance.
According to the Wenews reporting team, hundreds of PTI workers still guard Imran Khan’s residence.
PTI sources said that Imran Khan has decided to surrender, but the workers are not agreeing. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief also made a similar gesture in his address through a video link earlier today.
“I told the workers outside Zaman Park to return as my bag is ready. I don’t want any chaos,” Imran Khan said.
“However, our workers know that ever since our government was toppled, our people have been jailed and tortured. We also know what happened to Azam Swati, Shahbaz Gill, and Arshad Sharif. We also know how Zill-e-Shah was picked up and tortured to death, and his body was thrown on the road. That is why the workers are worried that if the police take me away, they will treat me the same way, which is why the workers have been fighting since night,” Imran Khan said in the video.
