TAIF: Taif roses have had a close connection with the public of Taif City for a long time as the city recently celebrated the “Taif of Roses” festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Taif Governorate Municipality and with the support of the Quality-of-Life Program.

Multiple events were held on the sidelines of the festival to acquaint visitors and tourists from around the world with Taif’s culture.

The events allowed visitors to explore and discover the heritage of Taif roses, which have been present in historical palaces for over 300 years.

Visitors also took souvenir photos of Al-Kaaki Palace, whose excellent architectural artistry has granite stone, juniper wood, and coloured glass. It is based on the Hijaz design and blends with the ancient Roman style.

Taif Governorate is home to historical palaces that prove the governorate’s financial status at the time, reflected in the city’s beautiful architecture.

Famous palaces in Taif

The governorate is famous for many palaces like Jabra, Al-Sabban, Al-Kaaki, Al-Kateb, Al-Dahlawi,  Al-Buqari, and Al-Qama, all of which emanate a unique aesthetic feel.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) took pictures of Al-Kaaki Palace, constructed in 1358 AH and featured forty rooms, ten bathrooms, and six kitchens spread over 3 floors.

The palace has wide interior yards surrounded by vegetable gardens, orchards, and roses. It also has an old well that provides the palace with fresh water.
