The Washington Post Likely to Cut Jobs

WASHINGTON: The Washington Post will cut jobs in next year as the newspaper had already announced to close its weekly magazine and lay off eleven employees of its newsroom. 

The Washington Post’s Publisher Fred Ryan did not provide specific details about the cuts in jobs. In an email to the staff of The Washington Post, Fred Ryan said that the plan to reduce jobs in no way signals that they are scaling back their ambitions but that the newspaper cannot invest resources in initiatives that do not meet their customers’ needs and requirements.

The Washington Post’s Executive Editor

The spokesperson of the US-based newspaper Kathy Baird said that the plan to cut jobs will be finalized in next weeks. 

The Washington Post’s Executive Editor, Sally Buzbee said that The Post would close its Sunday magazine. It may be recalled that the Sunday magazine’s last issue will be published by December. 25. The Washington Post also did not offer any role to Pulitzer Prize-winning Sarah L. Kaufman.
