Thailand Oil Tanker Explosion Kills One, Injures Dozens

ISLAMABAD/BANGKOK: At least one person was killed and dozens of others injured on Tuesday after an oil tanker exploded in central Thailand’s Samut Songkhram province, local media reported.

The tanker that was docked at a shipyard on the Mae Klong River in Muang district, was undergoing regular maintenance when it caught fire and exploded.

Blast from oil tanker damaged nearby homes

The blast damaged nearby homes. Meanwhile, several workers are reportedly missing.

The blaze is now under control, local media said.

The tanker had moored at the dockyard on January 12 after unloading all of its fuel.
