ISLAMABAD: Why go to the supermarket when you can bake delicious bread at home? The freshness of homemade bread combined with the warm flavors of Thai curry paste makes this loaf truly impressive.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups refined flour
- 2 tablespoons red Thai curry paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons gluten
- 1 teaspoon fresh yeast
- 2 teaspoons bread improver
- 5 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon castor sugar
- 2 Thai lime leaves
- 2 teaspoons galangal
- ½ cup water
Method:
- Dissolve the yeast in 10 ml of lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt.
- Finely chop the galangal and kaffir lime leaves.
- Combine the refined flour, gluten, bread improver, oil, water, and yeast mixture to form the dough.
- Knead the dough well to strengthen the gluten.
- Roll out the dough, spread the Thai curry paste on top, and roll it up like a pinwheel.
- Place the rolled dough in a bread mold and make a deep cut on top to create layers.
- Allow it to rise in a warm place for an hour.
- Bake at 200°C (392°F) for 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
