ISLAMABAD: Tetra Pak Pakistan, a leading provider of sustainable food processing and packaging solutions, actively participated in the 26th Sustainable Development Conference and Expo held in Islamabad from November 19th to 20th.
The annual event, hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), gathered thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to address critical issues and chart a course for a more sustainable and resilient South Asia.
With the overarching theme, “Light at the End of the Tunnel: Hope in Times of Despair,” the conference aimed to instil optimism in the face of unprecedented challenges, including political and economic turmoil, conflicts, climate change, and post-pandemic transformations. Tetra Pak Pakistan played a significant role in the discussions, reaffirming its commitment to a sustainable and hopeful future.
During the Sustainability Expo, Tetra Pak Pakistan showcased its dedication to recycling by featuring a display with a bench made from recycled Tetra Pak cartons. Senator Sherry Rehman, the Honourable Chief Guest, visited the Tetra Pak stall, commending the company’s efforts and offering positive remarks about Tetra Pak’s recycling initiatives in Pakistan. Tetra Pak Pakistan took the opportunity to inform expo visitors about its local partnership with Green Earth Recycling, which began in 2014 and has consistently achieved increasing recycling targets. The collaboration involves collecting and recycling packaging waste into sellable products such as garden furniture, school desks, roofing solutions, and more.
The company’s sustainability achievements took centre stage in the closing Plenary of the Sustainability Expo, reaching a broader audience eager to embrace sustainable practices.
