The three nations announced in February that they would provide 100 Leopard tanks in the “coming months” AFP reported.

In a statement, the Danish military said that the first ten 10 German-made tanks had been sent to Kyiv. It added that more tanks have also been delivered from the factory. The army further said that personnel of Denmark in Germany to provide training to Ukrainian army personnel to use the tanks.

In the statement, the military commander Gunner Arpe Nielsen said they believed that it would help them to win the defence fight they were fighting.

AFP reported that Denmark’s Leopard 1 A5 tank models were functioning in its defence line until 2005. However, in 1997, Denmark purchased 51 Leopard 2A4 and the older Leopard tanks were phased out.
