GAZA: Telephone and internet communication is slowly being restored in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian media reported on Sunday.
On Saturday, a blackout in telephone and internet services isolated people in the Gaza Strip from the world and from each other, with calls to loved ones, ambulances, or colleagues in other locations.
This blackout coincided with Israel’s expansion of its air and ground assault.
International humanitarian organizations expressed concern that the blackout, which began on Friday evening, was exacerbating an already dire situation by hindering life-saving operations and obstructing their ability to contact their staff on the ground.
