ISLAMABAD: Telenor said on Monday that its microfinance bank and easypaisa operations would remain unaffected by the company’s sale.
Following recent news regarding Telenor Pakistan, Telenor Microfinance Bank and its flagship platform, easypaisa, would like to assure the valued customers that its operations remain unaffected, Telenor said in a press release, adding, that easypaisa and TMB are not part of the recent transaction, and the costumers’ deposits are completely secure.
The company said that it is an independent financial institution licensed and governed by the State Bank of Pakistan. The dedicated shareholders, Telenor B.V. and Ant Group remain fully committed to TMB’s ongoing transformation into a Digital Retail Bank (DRB), subject to regulatory approvals. This commitment ensures a bright future for our employees and customers, offering a wider range of services and products within a robust digital banking framework, it added.
The company said that it understands that questions may arise during times of change, but it advises its customers to disregard any unsubstantiated rumors and continue to trust in its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and service.
