TEHRAN: The diplomatic channels between Tehran and Washington remain open as the process of negotiations is proceeding, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said.
Responding to a question about talks between the US and Iran, the spokesperson said at a press conference that the matter has definite mechanisms. He said that the diplomatic channels between Iran and the US are open and the process of talks is in progress. He added that its details will be published in due time.
Nasser Kanaani noted that the outgoing administration of President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19, will act within the framework of the determined mechanisms until the last day of its term.
Responding to another question, about Iranian President-Elect Masoud Pezeshkian’s campaign promise of removal of sanctions, he said every deal has two sides, but in any case, Iran will employ its full capacities to secure its interests.
