CHICAGO: A technical fault has temporarily halted United Airlines departures, which later was resolved, western media reported on Tuesday.
The airline in a statement said it was holding all planes at their airports, while airborne flights would continue their journey.
The US airline on social media X (former Twitter) said: “We have identified a fix for the technology issue and flights have resumed.
We have identified a fix for the technology issue and flights have resumed. We’re working with impacted customers to help them reach their destinations as soon as possible.

The airline asked the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to stop departures countrywide.
The flight departure operation was stopped for about an hour and a half causing problems for the passengers.
The FAA said the ground stop was caused by an equipment breakdown. United did not share any further details about the matter.
In recent months this is the second time that United Airlines has to ground flights because of a technical issue. In June, the airline had to cancel hundreds of flights after a computer system breakdown.
