LOS ANGELES: Despite a triumphant 2023 marked by record-breaking achievements and a billion-dollar Eras Tour, Taylor Swift’s continuous success could face unexpected challenges if she makes “one wrong statement,” according to PR experts.
Renowned PR guru Andy Barr has raised concerns about Swift potentially upsetting her dedicated fanbase, known as the “Swifties.” In an interview with the Mirror, Barr stated, “Taylor Swift has the world at her feet right now and looks like an unstoppable media machine. The only risk she could face in 2024 is upsetting those who have helped her get there, i.e., The Swifties.”
Barr described the Swifties as a “dedicated and loyal fanbase” but also emphasized their “hardcore” nature. He characterized them as a connected and powerful group, almost resembling a movement with a reputation for sensitivity.
The PR expert warned Swift that given the fervent loyalty of her fanbase, “one wrong statement” could potentially lead to a backlash. Drawing a parallel to football “ultras” who passionately support European teams, Barr highlighted the intense loyalty of the Swifties but noted their readiness to express discontent if they feel let down.
