DUBAI: A tanker sailing southwest of Hodeidah port in Yemen encountered an attack on Monday involving three small vessels and several missile strikes, according to reports from UKMTO (UK Maritime Trade Operations) and Ambrey, a British maritime security firm.

UKMTO stated that the tanker was approached by three small vessels, two of which were manned with three individuals each. The third vessel was unmanned.

The unmanned vessel collided with the tanker twice, while the manned vessels fired at it. After 15 minutes, the attackers aborted their attempt.

Fortunately, the tanker and its crew sustained no damage, and the vessel continued its journey to its destination port.

Later, the same tanker reported three missile explosions in its vicinity, none of which hit the vessel. The vessel had a private armed security team onboard, as reported by Ambrey.
