ISLAMABAD/WASHINGTON: The USA has warned Afghanistan that Washington would initiate action if terrorists regain any ground in Afghanistan.

Ned Price, US State Department spokesman, warned Kabul of action if international terrorists regrouped in the land of Afghanistan, fearing the country may become a haven for militants again. The State Department spokesman said the recent attack on Pakistan Embassy in Kabul suggests the Taliban have failed to live up to their commitments in counter terrorism as well. The USA will take action if it sees international terrorists regrouping in Afghanistan.

USA vows to protect interests

Ned Price said “We will take a military response in a way that protects our interests.” He said that the Taliban government’s relationship with the USA and the international community depends entirely on their actions and government behaviour. Ned said that it is undeniable that the Taliban government continues to seek relations with other countries and Taliban needs relations with the rest of the world. The Taliban government would not be able to have prosperity and stability without continued international assistance, he added.
