SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) chose to bowl first after winning the toss against Afghanistan in the third match of the tri-nation T20 International series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Both teams are seeking their first win of the tournament after losing their opening matches to Pakistan.

The fixture is crucial, with Afghanistan aiming to post a challenging total while the UAE relies on its bowling attack to restrict the opposition.

Afghanistan holds a dominant record in the head-to-head contests, winning nine out of 12 T20Is against the UAE.

The Gulf side, however, has three victories to its name and will look to improve that tally.

Recent form suggests both teams are under pressure. Afghanistan’s last five results read L, W, W, L, L, while the UAE has recorded L, L, W, W, W in its past five outings.
