Our eagerness to launch a T20 league in Malaysia is palpable. We saw the potential of associate nations in the recently finished T20 World Cup as they pulled off numerous upsets against elite teams, and our goal is to elevate the Malaysian cricket team to those levels. According to Mr. Anil Mohan, the founder and CEO of IPG, the official promoter of the LPL, “We think that a T20 league like this can unearth some of the best cricketing talents in the nation and help strengthen the Malaysian cricket team.”
Added he, “The upcoming Malaysian T20 league will attract many of the top cricketers in the world, providing local players with a fantastic opportunity to observe and learn from them. We want to pair Malaysian cricketers with some of the game’s most talented players. They can educate them on various facets of the game, which will ultimately elevate cricket in this nation.”
