Syed Ali Gilani Hailed as Symbol of Kashmiri Resistance Movement

SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) on Monday said that the position held by the iconic late leader Syed Ali Gilani regarding the Kashmir dispute serves as a symbol of the Kashmiri people’s struggle for resistance.

Prominent figures within the APHC, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Muhammad Hazeefa, Imtiyaz Rishi, and Yasmeen Raja, issued separate statements in Srinagar.

They announced that on the occasion of Syed Ali Gilani’s second martyrdom anniversary on September 1, a procession of Kashmiris will gather at his resting place in Hyderpora, Srinagar, to honor his legacy, as stated in a press release.

Syed Ali Gilani’s Freedom Mission

The leaders conveyed that the people of Kashmir would also reaffirm their commitment to the mission of the esteemed Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani and other martyrs of the Kashmir freedom movement, pledging their support to achieve this goal at any cost.

They appealed to the populace to stand united and emphasized that the most fitting tribute to the martyrs was to carry forward their mission.

Meanwhile, leaders from the APHC’s Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) chapter, including Altaf Hussain Wani, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Altaf Ahmed Butt, and Syed Aijaz Rehmani, paid heartfelt tributes to Syed Ali Gilani in Islamabad. They highlighted that his tireless struggle and sacrifices will forever remain etched in history.

The leaders urged Kashmiris residing in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and abroad to hold protest rallies and demonstrations on the anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani’s martyrdom. Their aim is to draw the attention of the international community towards the plight of the oppressed and besieged Kashmiri people.
