The project will be implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, and Punjab provinces and in Islamabad. The UN refugees body will also seek to develop capacity and create good opportunities for Afghan refugees in Pakistan through vocational skills training and help to startup businesses that will serve males and females for life. UNHCR will also support host communities in the country to achieve self-reliance via vocational skills training.
UNHCR’s Representative to Pakistan, Noriko Yoshida, said that the inking of the agreement between Switzerland and UNHCR comes when unprecedented needs for refugees and host communities in Pakistan require comprehensive, innovative, and collaborative international action.
Noriko Yoshida added that the four-year program provides efficient, effective, and predictable help to change lives. – APP
