Switzerland Foreign Minister Arrives in Islamabad on Official Visit

ISLAMABAD: Switzerland’s Foreign Minister, Ignazio Cassis, has arrived in Islamabad on a three-day official visit. During his visit, he will engage in bilateral discussions and meet with key government officials of Pakistan.

Upon his arrival, Cassis held a meeting with Acting Foreign Secretary Dr Syrus Sajjad Qazi, where they discussed various matters of mutual interest. A high-level delegation, including members of the Swiss Parliament and senior officials, is accompanying the Foreign Minister.

Switzerland Foreign Minister to Meet PM Shehbaz

As part of his itinerary, Cassis is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman. These meetings are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring opportunities for cooperation in various fields.

In addition, the Swiss foreign minister will visit the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), where discussions will be held to enhance bilateral cooperation in disaster management. This visit reflects Switzerland’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in managing and mitigating the impact of natural disasters.

The visit of the Swiss Foreign Minister underscores the importance Switzerland places on its relationship with Pakistan and highlights the desire to further deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
