Swabi Police Kill Two Mastermind Terrorists

ISLAMABAD: Swabi Police have killed two mastermind terrorists and arrested another, along with two suspects, in an intelligence-based operation against terrorists, according to a press release released on Wednesday.

A joint operation was carried out at Hund by the Swabi Police and intelligence services in response to a tip about the presence of terrorists. Izharullah alias Shiraz, a native of Asota Sharif, and his accomplice Zeenat alias Saqib, a resident of Bajaur, were killed during the operation. At the same time, another terrorist was detained along with two other suspects.

Terrorist Izharullah alias Shiraz was wanted in connection with terrorism-related cases by Swabi Police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Authorities sought him in connection with recent hand grenade attacks at Police Stations Yar Hussain and Kalu Khan. A police officer was injured during the attack.

He was also the leader of Afghan terrorists who were used in attacks on polio teams, traffic cops, and other terror occurrences. The Pakistani government had set a $2 million bounty on his head. He was hired as an inspector by the Airport Security Force (ASF) and was also the mastermind of the terrorist attack at Peshawar Airport.

Terrorist Izharullah was wanted by authorities in connection with the targeted killings of multiple police officers, including constables Sabir and Mubasir in 2013, Sajid and Bakhtiar in 2014, and Head Constable Bakht Munir in 2022.
