Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar are also included in the bench.

Additional Attorney General of Pakistan, Aamir Rehman, and Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan appeared in court. He stated that no tangible evidence has been provided for the case so far.

CJP Bandial stated that the JIT intends to return to the UAE for the probe. He also rejected the JIT report in the Arshad Sharif murder case. He said that they don’t need a report that’s empty of facts and progress. The chief justice inquired as to why the two officers who prepared the fact-finding report were not included in the JIT. He also stated that the Supreme Court wants a transparent and fair probe into Arshad Sharif’s murder case.

Suo motu proceedings were begun by the five-judge Supreme Court bench to ensure a transparent and independent probe into the journalist’s murder. During the previous hearing, the Supreme Court hinted at the formation of a judicial panel to investigate the murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif.
