RIYADH: The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has issued an appeal for the observation of the Ramadan moon on Sunday evening, indicating the imminent start of the holy month.
Meanwhile, London’s renowned West End has been adorned with exquisite decorations in anticipation of Ramadan.
In the event that moon sighting is not feasible, individuals are encouraged to report any evidence of the crescent sighting over the phone from their nearest center. Saudi media suggests a high probability that Ramadan in Saudi Arabia will commence on Monday, March 11, potentially leading to Eid al-Fitr falling on April 10 or 11.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan graced the occasion with his presence, delivering a unifying message to all attendees. Notably, the Central Sighting of the Crescent Committee in Pakistan has indicated the possibility of the first fast of Ramadan beginning on Tuesday, March 12.
Mufti Khalid Ijaz, the General Secretary of the Sighting of the Crescent Committee Research Council, emphasized that if the sky is clear on the evening of Monday, March 11, the sighting of the crescent is highly probable. Consequently, it is anticipated that the first fast will commence on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
