RIYADH: The full moon of Safar, the 2nd month in the Islamic calendar, lit the sky above the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Arab media reported on Wednesday. Its light was captured by the lens of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
As per reports of the SPA, the full moon is the 3rd super one for the current year and the 2nd during August, known as the Blue Moon.
According to the Jeddah Astronomy Society, most of the months feature only one full moon, while August witnesses two. The second full moon is called the Blue Moon, which occurs on average once every two-and-a-half years when the moon is in full moon phase during the first hours of the month.
