ISLAMABAD: The son of Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s Prime Minister (PM), Suleman Shehbaz, in a surprising turn of events, has announced to return to Pakistan and has requested bail.

Bail application submitted to IHC
Suleman Shehbaz’s application for protective plea was submitted to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday by his attorney. An accountability court in Lahore had issued Suleman’s non-bailable arrest warrants after he was named a proclaimed offender in a money-laundering case against the Sharif family. The NAB had already made many attempts to bring Suleman to Pakistan.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a former federal minister and speaker of the National Assembly, said in a television interview on Tuesday night that PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif would be returning to Pakistan in January. The federal minister told a private TV channel that Nawaz Sharif would come to the nation the following month and give party tickets to candidates.
