Sukkur Marks 76th Independence Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony

SUKKUR: The Sukkur district administration on Monday conducted a national flag hoisting ceremony at the Municipal Stadium to mark Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day.

Speaking to the gathering, Dr. Shahzad Thaheem, Deputy Commissioner (DC), remarked, “Our education system needs enhancement.”

He stressed the importance of fostering discipline and education among the youth, urging every citizen to contribute tirelessly towards the nation’s spirit, development, and prosperity.

Independence Day: Nation Sacrifices and Education

Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh, Mayor of Sukkur, acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by the nation’s elders in obtaining the country. He emphasized the significance of commemorating the sacrifices of our predecessors, martyrs, and national heroes on this occasion.

He expressed the necessity of translating our commitments into actions, stating, “We must turn our aspirations into tangible achievements.”

Moreover, he noted that Pakistan’s existence results from the relentless struggle of the subcontinent’s Muslims. To bolster the nation’s strength and progress, he underscored the collective responsibility of citizens from all walks of life to unite and actively contribute to the nation’s advancement.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of officials from various government institutions, schoolchildren, and ordinary citizens.
