BURAIDAH: Sukkari dates are in great demand at Buraidah Dates Carnival, eclipsing the other varieties at the crowded auction in the City of Dates, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
Sukkari dates are most in demand from customers and traders both from Saudi Arabia and abroad followed by the Qassim dates, which count more than 50 types.
Prices of Sukkari dates are reasonable, encouraging people to buy their needs for commercial purposes, or for the holy month of Ramadan and giving as a gift.
Sukkari palm trees constitute about 65 percent of the palm trees in the Qassim region and receive the attention and care of farmers and relevant authorities.
These dates are known among consumers for their quality, nutritional value, and ease of handling in cooling, storing and packaging.
