PESHAWAR: In the wake of strict measures taken against sugar hoarding, the local market has witnessed a remarkable decrease in sugar prices, with a reduction of Rs 50 to Rs 55 per kilogram in the provincial capital.
As per reports from the local market, sugar is currently available at prices ranging from Rs 162 to Rs 165 per kilogram. Store owners attribute this significant price drop to effective measures taken against sugar smuggling and the temporary closure of the Afghanistan border.
Meanwhile, citizens have applauded the government’s efforts in controlling sugar prices and cracking down on hoarding activities. They are now urging authorities to intensify actions against the sugar mafia to further bring down sugar prices.
