BEIJING: Beijing calls on the two sides in Sudan to halt fighting immediately and stop the escalation of tension, China’s foreign ministry spokesperson said on Sunday.

In a statement while commenting over the current situation in Sudan, the spokesperson said, “We ask the two sides to stop fighting and halt the escalation of tensions,”.
He expressed hope all parties in the African country will give priority to dialogue to resolve the differences. The spokesperson hoped that all sides in Sudan will jointly move forward the process of political transition.
Beijing is closely following the recent situation in Sudan, the spokesperson said.
According to media reports, on April 15, fierce clashes took place between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum and other parts of the African country.
