LAHORE: Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasized that a strong government derives its strength from the support of the people rather than relying on backing from the establishment.
Speaking via a video link to his supporters, Khan stated that only a government with a public mandate could make significant decisions, implement reforms, and establish the rule of law.

Khan stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law, stating that the country would not survive without it. He expressed skepticism regarding the ability of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) or Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to form a government, claiming that they are gathering people to form a coalition. However, he questioned whether a coalition would be able to navigate the country through its current difficult times and provide a clear roadmap.

Furthermore, Khan expressed concerns about the formation of a “king’s party,” speculating that those who have left PTI may be included in this new political entity. He attributed this possibility to the seat distribution between the PPP and PML-N.

Only Few Members Leave PTI Despite Crackdown: Imran Khan
Khan alleged that all institutions in the country are being systematically destroyed to weaken the PTI. He further claimed that despite the crackdown on the party, only a few members have left due to the realization that their political careers would be jeopardized. Khan also highlighted the discontent among the majority of the police force, stating that they are being forced to carry out actions they disagree with.
Expressing concern for the superior judiciary, Khan claimed that judges are facing immense pressure and receiving threatening phone calls. He criticized the authorities for their treatment of women, noting that the authorities are hesitant to release them even though they were not involved in acts of violence.
Khan further claimed that party leaders are being subjected to torture simply for expressing support for PTI. He accused the government of concocting a “new drama” to create a new party and divide PTI further.
The pressure being exerted on PTI, according to Khan, is unprecedented, with thousands of supporters being thrown in jail and subjected to torture. Despite the challenges, Khan assured his supporters that PTI remains resilient and steadfast.
