ISLAMABAD: A strong earthquake, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, its adjacent city Rawalpindi and surrounding areas on Sunday.
The quake’s magnitude was estimated to be 6.3 on the Richter scale, local media reported, adding that the epicenter of the tremor was recorded in Tajikistan at a depth of 150 kilometres.
Quake also felt in neighboring countries
Reportedly, tremors were also felt in the neighboring countries of Afghanistan and Iran.
Residents of twin cities came out of buildings, while no reports of any damage have been reported so far.
