ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar emphasized on Wednesday the importance of enhancing trade and business ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, Minister Tarar underscored the necessity of developing a joint roadmap to bolster the economy.
The discussions during the meeting encompassed various areas of mutual interest, with a focus on advancing bilateral relations and fostering cooperation across different sectors.
Minister Tarar highlighted the deep-rooted bonds between Pakistan and the UAE, built on shared heritage and extensive collaboration on multilateral platforms. He noted that the people of Pakistan view the UAE as a second home, exemplified by historical instances such as the inaugural flight of Emirates Airline piloted by a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aviator.
Furthermore, Minister Tarar recalled the close relationship between late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the leadership and people of Pakistan, underscoring the enduring friendship between the two nations.
In his briefing to Ambassador Al-Zaabi, Minister Tarar outlined the economic initiatives undertaken by the current government, including tax reforms within the Federal Bureau of Revenue and efforts towards digitalizing the economic sector.
Ambassador Al-Zaabi echoed the sentiments of strengthened bilateral relations in alignment with the vision of leadership from both countries. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting Pakistan during challenging times and contributing to its economic development endeavors.
Expressing condemnation for the recent terrorist incident in Bisham, Ambassador Al-Zaabi reiterated the UAE’s solidarity with Pakistan.
Minister Tarar extended appreciation for the visionary efforts of the UAE leadership in driving the country’s development and transformation forward, acknowledging their significant contributions to progress and prosperity.
