MULTAN: English captain Ben Stokes has been named in the England squad for the second Test against Pakistan, starting Tuesday in Multan, after recovering from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the previous matches against Sri Lanka and the first Test against Pakistan.

Stokes’s return is a significant boost for the team, which achieved a commanding victory in the first Test by an innings and 47 runs, thanks in large part to outstanding performances from Harry Brook and Joe Root, who scored 317 and 262 runs, respectively.

Matt Potts also makes his comeback, having last played in August against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, seamers Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes will be rested for this match. England’s impressive first Test win marked a historic moment, as Pakistan became the first team in Test history to lose by an innings after scoring over 550 runs in the first innings.

The complete England XI for the second Test includes Stokes (captain), Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, Matt Potts, Jack Leach, and Shoaib Bashir.
