KUNMING: Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dinesh Gunawardena has arrived in Chinese city of Kunming to attend seventh China-South Asia Expo as a chief guest, reported Sri Lankan media on Tuesday.
Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Yunnan provincial government are jointly hosting the expo to be held from August 16 to 20 in Kunming, China. According to Expo organizers, sixty countries will take part thes trade exhibition.
Sri Lankan PM to Attend China Expo as Chief Guest
The seventh China-South Asia Expo is known to be the most significant economic and trade event in China that promotes exchange between China and South Asian countries.
The 15 large pavilions have been set up at the expo to enhance economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges with South Asia.
While nine pavilions are allocated for regional cooperation, resource, industrial park, port, biopharmaceuticals and health, cultural tourism, modern agriculture, digital economy, and advanced manufacturing.
The exhibition covers an area of 150,000 square meter and will also be displayed online. The expo is an important platform of extensive consultation, joint projects and shared benefits between China and South and Southeast Asian countries.
