SYLHET (Bangladesh) Sri Lanka outclassed minnows Malaysia by 72 runs in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2022 at Sylhet Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh on Saturday morning in a low scoring encounter.
Sri Lanka won the toss and asked their opponents to field first, as Sri Lankan batters could score only 105 for 7 runs in 20 overs per innings fixture. Oshadi Ranasinghe was top scorer with 18 not out runs innings, as she lasted 18 balls and hit couple of maximums. Chamari Attapaththu and Silakshi de Silva played each 21 runs innings for their team. Sasha Azmi (2 for 10), Ainna Hamizah Hashim (2 for 23), Aisya Eleesa (1 for 20) and Mahirah Izzati Ismail (1 for 16) were the wicket taker for Malaysia.
