Sri Lanka Felicities Saudi Arabia on Successful Hajj

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka has extended congratulation to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for the success of the current year’s Hajj, as pilgrims from the country began wrapping up their stay in Saudi Arabia, Arab media reported on Sunday.

In Sri Lanka, Muslims constitute around ten percent of its 22 million population. This year, around 3,500 of them visited Saudi Arabia and performed the Hajj. The Hajj season concluded following about 1.9 million Muslims from across the world performed the Hajj.

Sri Lanka’s envoy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Pakeer Mohideen Amza said, “We congratulate the leadership of KSA for the successful arrangement of the biggest Hajj operation ever,” Arab news reported.  He lauded the leadership of Saudi Arabia and described the arrangements for Hajj exemplary.

Falah Alhabshi Mowlana, Sri Lanka’s consul general in Jeddah also lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for the success of the current year’s Hajj. He said that Saudi Arabia has utilized all potentials and resources to accommodate 1.9 million pilgrims to succeed this year’s Hajj.

Meanwhile, Rizmi Reyal, head of the Sri Lanka Hajj Travel Operators Association lauded the services provided at Grand Mosque in Makkah and health facilities across Saudi Arabia.
