KABUL: Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs, Yue Xiaoyong, embarked on a diplomatic mission to Afghanistan alongside representatives from Russia, Iran, and Pakistan to address the Afghan issue. During the visit, Yue Xiaoyong and the delegation met with Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and other senior officials of the Afghan Interim Government. Additionally, they participated in Afghanistan’s Regional Cooperation Initiative meeting, aiming to foster collaboration and stability in the region.
Following the visit to Afghanistan, from January 30 to February 3, Special Envoy Yue Xiaoyong conducted diplomatic engagements in Iran and Pakistan. In Iran, he held discussions with officials from the foreign ministry, exchanging views on mutual interests and concerns. Similarly, in Pakistan, Special Envoy Yue met with officials responsible for foreign affairs, furthering dialogue on pertinent issues.
The diplomatic efforts underscored the importance of regional cooperation and dialogue in addressing the complexities surrounding Afghanistan.
