ISLAMABAD: Speakers at a seminar ‘titled “Quaid-e-Azam ka Tasawar-e-Pakistan” (Quaid-e-Azam’s Vision of Pakistan), urged to adhere to the vision of the founding father to address Pakistan’s economic challenges.
The seminar was jointly organized by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Idara-i-Nazaria-i-Pakistan in Islamabad on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Senator Raja Zafar ul Haq highlighted that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision for Pakistan encompassed a nation where people of all faiths would prosper under the rule of law, enjoy freedom of expression and benefit from a robust economy. He emphasized the importance of adhering to Quaid-e-Azam’s principles to guide the country out of its current economic challenges.
Senator Syed Mushahid Hussain said that Quaid-e-Azam wanted an active private sector in Pakistan to build a strong regional economy. He urged the government to take steps to improve the ease of doing business in the country and uphold the rule of law and human rights for all communities.
Furthermore, Senator Mushahid Hussain advocated for open borders to boost trade with neighboring nations, fostering progress and prosperity in the region.
Economic Challenges Require Embracing Quaid-e-Azam’s Vision
Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of ICCI, noted that Quaid-e-Azam had stressed the importance of prioritizing the well-being of the people to make Pakistan a happy and prosperous nation. However, he expressed concern that the current situation in Pakistan, marked by record-high inflation and a high cost of living, did not align with this vision. He called upon all political parties to collaborate in charting a path towards sustainable economic development and urged the government to focus on improving the ease of doing business to propel Pakistan towards progress and prosperity.
Zafar Bakhtawari, a member of the General Council of Idara-i-Nazaria-i-Pakistan, lamented that despite Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of a united Pakistan where people of all faiths would coexist harmoniously, external forces had sown division and created a hybrid war in the country. He stressed the need for all stakeholders to contribute to political and economic stability in Pakistan to transform Quaid-e-Azam’s vision into reality.
Other speakers at the event, including Naheed Imran Gill, Secretary General, and Saifullah Ch., Additional Secretary of Idara-i-Nazaria-i-Pakistan, Ch. Akram, Director of Punjab Group of Colleges, Engr. Arif Sheikh, Abdullah Gul (son of General Retd.
