RIYADH: The Spanish Super Cup will be organized in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on January 10-14, 2024, the Ministry of Sports said on Wednesday. The event involves Barcelona, Real Madrid, Osasuna and Atlético Madrid.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the tournament’s knockout phase will be held at Awal Park stadium in Riyadh. Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid will kick off the event on January 10th, while defending champion Barcelona will face Osasuna the next day, January 11th. On January 14th, the winners will face each other in the final game, the SPA added.
It will be the 4th consecutive time the Spanish tournament finals are hosted by Saudi Arabia, after the 1st edition in 2020 in Jeddah, where team Real Madrid was crowned winner. The 2nd tournament, was held in 2022, was again won by the defending champion Real Madrid in Riyadh. The third tournament, organized in 2023, was won by Barcelona.
Barcelona is the Spanish League champion and Real Madrid is the Copa del Rey champion. Osasuna, as the runner-up to the cup champion, will be making its debut entrance in the Spanish Super Cup, the SPA said. As the 2022-23 season’s 3rd-place finisher in Spain’s “La Liga” league, Atlético Madrid rounds up the event’s eligible side.
