In a statement, the football federation said that Montse Tome had been Jorge Vilda’s associate coach since 2018 and has since “recognized herself as a main player in the team’s growth”.  Jorge Vilda’s contract was finished earlier on Tuesday by the football federation’s new board, which was constituted following the suspension of the federation President Luis Rubiales by FIFA over his allegedly non-consensual kiss of a player following the team won the Women’s World Cup against England.
