South Korea to Enhance Investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A South Korean delegation, headed by I-jae Jang, Secretary Ministry of Environment, Korea, held a meeting with Asad Rehman Gilani, Secretary Board of Investment (BOI) on Friday where both sides discussed ways to boost Korean investment in Pakistan.

Talking to the delegation, Asad Rehman Gilani underscored the importance of boosting foreign investment to overcome current economic challenges in Pakistan.

Asad Rehman said that Pakistan is required to attract more foreign direct investment from Korea, for which the BOI would leave no stone unturned to facilitate the Korean investors by providing them with an investment-friendly environment in Pakistan.

Friendly Ties Between Pakistan and Korea

He further said, “We value the friendship bond with the government and the people of Korea. We welcome their participation and investment in Pakistan’s economy,” adding that it was the duty of BOI to address the issues of investors, particularly foreign investors.

Hailing the non-stop support from the BOI, the Korean Secretary of Environment Mr. I-jae Jang expressed his commitment to work in close collaboration with the Pakistani side to resolve Korean investor issues on a priority basis.

He said that the Korean companies were not only investing in Pakistan but also contributing to the economy of Pakistan.

On the occasion, Director General BOI (Investment Promotion) Nadeem Basheer and other senior officials were also present.
