ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the Republic of South Korea in Islamabad commemorated the National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Korea, alongside marking the significant 40th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Pakistan.
This festive occasion took place at the residence of the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador.
The distinguished event saw the esteemed presence of Muhammad Sami Saeed, the Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, who graced the gathering as the Chief Guest.
The event was attended by key dignitaries, including Murtaza Solangi, the Federal Minister for Information and broadcasting; Kamran Tessori, the Governor of Sindh; Ahmed Hanif Orakzai, the Federal Secretary for Interprovincial Coordination; Senators Zeeshan Khanzada and Keeshoo Bai, as well as Ameer Khurram Rathore, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also honored the occasion with their participation.
South Korea Ambassador Highlights Mutual Collaboration
In his address, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Park Ki Jun, welcomed esteemed guests to his residence, highlighting the significance of their presence as a testament to the enduring warmth and solidarity between the two nations.
He expressed his admiration for Pakistan’s commitment to national progress.

In his address, Ambassador Suh underscored the need to not only cherish the achievements of the past but to also focus on a future filled with new promises. Meanwhile, the Department of Archeology and Museum (DOAM), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, organized an exhibition on Friday to showcase the “40 Years of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Korea and Pakistan.”
The opening session of the exhibition featured prominent speakers, including Park Kijun, the Korean Ambassador; a representative from the National Heritage and Culture Division in Islamabad; the Executive Director of the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (KCHF); and Dr. Abdul Azeem, the Director General of DOAM.
The exhibition’s primary objective was to commemorate the four-decade-long diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
In his address, the Joint Secretary of the National Heritage and Culture Division underscored the enduring friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and South Korea, which has evolved over 40 years, resulting in significant advancements in their bilateral relations. He emphasized that both Pakistan and Korea share a common interest in fostering a peaceful and prosperous South Asia, collaborating in various multilateral forums to achieve this goal.
Furthermore, he highlighted the wide-ranging cooperation between Pakistan and Korea, encompassing various areas, with a special focus on cultural heritage.
